What began as a personal initiative - Switched On, an independently produced podcast exploring
professional journeys - evolved into a broader platform for access and enrichment. I conceived and
developed the project from the ground up, hosting and editing over 30 long-form interviews with
individuals across a range of industries.
This early work sharpened my understanding of how structured conversation can demystify opportunity
and provide students with perspectives not easily found in the classroom.
Recognising its wider potential, I collaborated with my school to establish a formal podcasting
programme and in-house studio. I now lead the research, speaker engagement, interview hosting, and
production process for a series that supports Eton’s outreach and careers education. Episodes are
shared internally and across EtonX, and are distributed to more than 950 state schools through the
school’s national partnership network, reaching 50,000+ students.
In recognition of its educational impact, the project was archived in the Eton Archives under Sent
Up
For Good* - a distinction reserved for student work of enduring value. The experience continues to
shape
how I think about communication, equity, and the power of student-led initiatives to
scale meaningfully.
